Active Spring Semester & Indie Projects

Rana Aryan

Student. Builder. Still figuring it out.

I'm a student who moves between writing code, crafting essays, and experimenting with visual & digital design. Interested in software craft, calm user interfaces, and building things from scratch.

01 / Core Pillars

What I'm Into

I don't fit into a single box. Here are the distinct directions where I spend my creative and analytical energy.

Software & Systems

Building software that feels fast, intuitive, and durable.

Deeply curious about full-stack web platforms, compiler internals, lightweight utility tools, and clean client-side state architectures.

TypeScript / Next.jsSystems & API DesignUI Performance

Essays & Notes

Writing to think out loud and clarify complex ideas.

I write about developer workflows, learning in public as a student, technology design decisions, and personal observations as a builder.

Technical EssaysProduct MusingsLearning Logs

Creative Exploration

Designing tactile digital experiences and visual layouts.

Obsessed with typography, spacing grids, subtle micro-interactions, and visual storytelling that make web interfaces feel alive.

Design SystemsTypography & LayoutInteractive UI

Open Experiments

Prototyping tiny tools and open source snippets.

From small CLI utilities to browser extensions and experimental Canvas widgets. Not everything needs to be a venture startup.

Tactile Specs

What it is

A lightweight browser extension and dashboard that audits color contrast, focus boundaries, and touch target sizes on live web pages in real-time.

What I learned

Mastered WCAG 2.1 AA algorithmic color contrast formulas (Luminance ratio calculations) and Chrome extension Manifest V3 background scripts.

What it is

An lightweight event analytics engine that measures visitor journeys without storing PII or personal tracking cookies.

What I learned

Learned how to handle high-concurrency ingestion routes using ClickHouse & Redis caching, alongside aggregated time-series chart rendering.

About Rana

Hey! I'm Rana Aryan. I'm currently a computer science student who spends most of my waking hours either writing code, reading essays on software design, or tweaking typography grids on the web.

My path into tech wasn't a rigid straight line. I started by tinkering with custom blog themes and writing short stories before realizing that code is one of the most expressive mediums we have for bringing ideas to life.

Right now, I'm focused on mastering full-stack web systems, understanding compiler diagnostics, and building clean digital products. I don't pretend to have everything figured out—I view every project as an active notebook page where I learn in public.

When I'm not in front of a code editor, you'll find me searching for good coffee, reading non-fiction, or writing notes on design craft and student life.
